How do you keep track of your EMS IC credits?  Spreadsheet?  Database?  Other method??  This forum was requested by Tony Lelo and is the place to share your best practices!

Hi Tony - I use an Excel spreadsheet to track CE's. I have one for EMS and one for IC. It can calculate your accumulated CE's for each category and puts it in a totals pages so you can easily glance at what you've accumulated. Let me know if you'd like me to send it to you. It may also be available in the Region Support section for download. If you can't find it, let me know and I can send it to you to check out.

I would like to respectfully submit that it may be a mute point for some of us.  I have now attended two SMEMSIC conferences and have yet to see any documentation or ability to verify that I have any IC CEU's.  I am a new I/C but this method of going to a conference, scanning in for credit and then no direction as to how to validate (get those credits) seems a bit, well odd to me.

Is this normal and if not what must one do to rectify the situation?

    Sincerely,

    "Long-time educator - I/C newbie"

Hi Patricia - The IC Society began issuing proof of attendance at the IC conferences electronically a number of years ago. To get your documents, go to your profile page by clicking on your name at the top of the screen on this web site and scroll to the bottom of the screen. You will see the list of conferences and other records listed there. Hope this helps, and sorry for the confusion. I know we are working on updating the website soon, and we can look into making it a little easier to find things and navigate.

Thank you much for the instruction Bob!  So now that I know the process, it's an easy task to get them.

(I would suggest this information be conveyed at least once during a general session to all attending a conference for those who are new.)

    Have a great day!

Thank you, Patricia. It has been addressed in the past, but this information is probably worth repeating. Also know that the Society is in the process of getting the website a long overdue update. We realize it lacks some user friendliness and can be hard to navigate. When it is complete, we hope to address all these hard to find items and other areas of concern.
